RideLoop privacy
Last updated October 5, 2026
RideLoop builds cycling loops from your front door. It's a small beta run by one person. This page says what it keeps about you and why.
What we keep
- Your sign-in basics: your name and email address, plus your Google account ID if you sign in with Google, so you can sign in. We never see your Google password, and we ask Google for nothing else.
- Account details: when you signed up, when you last used RideLoop, your plan, and the invite you joined with. RideLoop also remembers which link or site first brought you here (a short tag, no tracking across sites) and keeps it with your account.
- How much you grade: what your road grading cost each day, so the free daily allowance can be enforced.
- Road grades: grades of public roads are shared with every RideLoop rider. They describe roads, not you. We note which account sent each grade, to catch mistakes.
- Your road marks: roads you mark great or rough are kept with your account and only change your own loops.
- Your loops: the loops you send to Garmin, download, cut by hand or keep with the bookmark, so you can ride them again: each loop's route (which starts where you started it, often your home), its name, distance and climb, and when you kept it. They're private to you. Remove any of them under Your loops; they're deleted with your account. Bronze shows your newest 2 and keeps up to 50.
- Garmin, if you connect it: the sign-in tokens Garmin issues, your Garmin display name and device, and a list of the loops you sent (name, date and Garmin course ID). Your Garmin password is used once to sign in and is never stored.
Your home location and settings (map style, ride options, marked closures) are kept with your account so they follow you to every device; they're private to you and deleted with your account. Loops you build but don't keep stay in your own browser. When you open Rides, RideLoop reads your cycling activities from Garmin Connect to show them to you; it doesn't keep them, except a note of which rides rode one of your kept loops (the ride's Garmin ID, name and start time), so Your loops can say how often you rode each. RideLoop changes your Garmin rides only when you ask: naming a ride after its loop, or moving rides to another bike. Road lookups, address suggestions and grading go through RideLoop's server to OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, openrouteservice and Anthropic, without your name or email.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data, show ads, or share your email with anyone. We may email you about your RideLoop account.
Where it lives
RideLoop runs on Cloudflare. Account data is stored in a Cloudflare database.
RideLoop counts page visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't identify you: it tells us how many people visited which pages and which site sent them.
Deleting your account
Email privacy@rideloopcycling.com and we'll delete your account and everything tied to it.
